Welcome to our March & April 2010 news update
With members of the UK Link Ethiopia team about to depart for Ethiopia in a few days time, here is our March/April News Update.
Again we are using our new email format which we hope is an improvement for you. Don’t forget the new Quiz and Conundrum sections – and we would love to receive any suggestions from you experts out there who might like to provide us with suitably teasing questions, especially some simple child-centred ideas for our younger readers! Focus on… Child Sponsorship
Child Sponsorship is becoming increasingly important in the work we are doing in Ethiopia. It’s thanks to individuals like you that specific children who would otherwise be at risk of dropping out of education are given a much brighter future.
In this month’s focus on child sponsorship we:
- thank the 42 sponsors who are changing 42 lives,
- introduce our new Sponsorship Manager in Ethiopia,
- announce the start of Tutu’s Fund for the Future, and
- ask if you are able to join with us to help?

The Water Resource Minister in Ethiopia has announced that the Government plans to expand the provision of clean, safe water and sanitation services, covering every inhabited area within the next five years. This is also one of the focuses of Link Ethiopia’s project work in schools. Read more…

Meet the Team: James Love
James started with Link Ethiopia many years ago as a volunteer teacher in the Gondar area. Now he is a valued member of Link Ethiopia’s central team, with the particular job of School Links Development Officer as his main role.
