Reinwood Primary School, linked with Adama 2 Elementary in Southern Ethiopia, recently held an Ethiopia day. Pupils learnt about clean water issues in Ethiopia and used ICT to design newspaper articles on the subject, reworked a traditional African fable, the Marriage of the Mouse and the Hare, and learnt about the effects of malaria around the world. Children also took part in a sponsored relay race carrying bottles of water in order to raise money and awareness about children in Ethiopia who have to fetch water for their household every day. The day was both fun and educational and raised a great deal of awareness about Ethiopia and Reinwood’s link with Adama 2.
