We ask runners to commit to raising £3,000 as a fundraising target for the Virgin London Marathon. This covers the cost of a place in the run, race day shirt and medal, and the funds raised go straight to our projects in Ethiopia.
Our staff will be on hand to provide tips and support your fundraising efforts.
Royal Parks Half Marathon
This stunning central London half marathon takes in some of the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads, and four of London’s Royal Parks – Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
The mostly flat, undulating route makes the race popular for those taking part for the first time, while also providing seasoned runners with the opportunity to best their record.

Registration deadline: 18 August 2021
“Thank you for encouraging us to take part in our first half marathon. We’re both moving rather slowly today. Your support at Mile 11 really did make all the difference. A truly memorable event.” Jacks and Elliot, London

Great Ethiopian Run
The Great Ethiopian Run is a 10km road running event which takes place every November in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Established in 2001 by one of the world’s greatest long-distance runners, Haile Gebreselassie, the event attracts more than 36,000 participants each year, making it Africa’s biggest road race.
Above all, the Great Ethiopian Run is a celebratory event for those of all ages and fitness levels – walkers, joggers and committed runners – alongside the 500 elite athletes who travel from across Ethiopia and the world to compete together in this unique environment. At 2,300 metres above sea level, this is no ordinary race: Addis Ababa is one of the highest capitals in the world and, as Gebreselassie himself has said, for those unused to such altitudes, a 10km run can feel like 15!
Next Race Day: 14 November 2021
