Queniborough C.E. Primary School in Leicestershire hosted school director Ato Mulugeta and teacher Abundeje from their link school Yekatit 23 in Bahir Dar, celebrating their school link and a joint artwork in an open air thanksgiving assembly on Tuesday 29th May. A replica banner has been installed in Yekatit 23.
A fun-filled and packed week followed: staff, parents, and students really got involved in making their Ethiopian guests feel at home and introducing them to their school, the local area and English culture. Their guests shared their Ethiopian culture too, including a coffee ceremony. Queniborough headteacher Joy and teacher Tracey recently visited Yekatit school, and this reciprocal visit was a fantastic success.
