At Anchow Mikael Elementary School, in a rural community in the north of Ethiopia, the pupils were taught under temporary shelters until very recently. These were made of branches and sticks which washed away with heavy rainstorms, which are common in this region during July and August.
Link Ethiopia worked with the local community to enable them to build this impressive double classroom and the local young people are now enjoying year-round education!
You can help us support schools like Anchow Mikael. A classroom in a rural school costs about £1,000 or $1,700 – why not make a donation towards a project like this or get in contact to find out more?
